Sangeeth Bharathi Institute of Arts

Sangeeth Bharathi was founded by late Vidwan Sri S.R. Aradhya in year 1969, in Vijayanagar, that time a culturally remote area in Bangalore. Sangeeth Bharathi was founded with the aim to promote the Indian Classical Music – Carnatic Vocal and instrumental and one of the classical forms of India – Bharathanatyam. Along with dance and music, students here learn the art of living under the guidance of Guru Smt. Padma Hemanth. At present, Sangeeth Bharathi has over 125 students undergoing training in dance and music. The classes are conducted by the Guru and other well trained teachers in respective verticle.

At SangeethBharathi, students undergo intense training in Bharathanatyam through weekend and weekday contact classes. They are trained in both the practical and theatrical aspects of the subject which grooms them to become dancers with holistic personality. SangeethBharathi arranges workshops in dance and other related art to enrich the knowledge of the students. Dance and music aspirants of the institute pursue exam conducted by Karnataka State Secondary Board – Junior, Senior and Vidwat and also yearly examinations of AkhilaBharataGandharvaMahavidyalaya from Prarambhik to Alankar level. The students exhibit their learnings and talent in their the institute’sAnnual day celebration, ‘Kalashri’.The latest choreographic ventures and ideas of Smt. Padma Hemanth and is presented to the public. Committed and dedicated students of Sangeeth Bharathi become a part of their performing troupe and give themselves to this divine art.

The artists of SangeethBharathi, trained under Padma, have always been appreciated for their creativity, versatility and ability to absorb quickly the knowledge given to them. Padma has also conducted dance workshops and lecture demonstrations in India and abroad.Guru Padma Hemanth’s openness and hunger for learning new things and enriching knowledge has also encouraged her students too to be so in the field.
